Tailor-made trip to Thailand Thailand, on the right coast at the right time.

Two coastlines, two opposite seasons, and choosing the wrong coast can cost you a week of rain. It is the first decision in any trip to Thailand, and it is made before choosing the hotel.

Recommended length
10 to 15 days
Best time to go
November to March, Andaman coast

Why this destination with me

Travelling to Thailand: what I know about this destination.

I have travelled in Thailand, and I organise family holidays there as well as group trips and corporate retreats.

For a family of five heading to Koh Samui, for example, I built a four-stage stay with accommodation suited to each moment: a hotel with pool access for the arrival, two nights in accommodation set within an elephant sanctuary, then places by the sea for the end of the trip.

The mistake I see most often is choosing an island without looking at the season: the Andaman coast and the Gulf of Thailand do not have the same weather on the same dates. It is the first thing I check.

When to go

When to go to Thailand? The right month depends on what you are looking for.

Thailand does not have one season but two, opposite depending on the coast. This table always distinguishes the Andaman coast to the west from the Gulf of Thailand to the east.

Itineraries

Itineraries in Thailand: routes that are genuinely built.

These itineraries are starting points, not packages. Each one is adjusted to your pace, your budget and the season.

Suggested itinerary — fifteen days, fourteen nights

North and beach, the classic combination

Bangkok, the north, then the beach. The most requested route, provided you choose the right coast for the month.

Days 1 to 3 — Bangkok

Arrival and two nights in the city. Bangkok is best explored at the start of the trip, when jet lag wakes you early.

Days 4 to 7 — The north

A domestic flight to the north rather than a long road journey, then four nights. Temples, markets, nature and encounters with local communities, with the providers chosen carefully.

Day 8 — Transfer to the coast

A domestic flight to the chosen coast. A transition day that is planned as a real day, not just as a journey.

Days 9 to 14 — Sea and islands

Six nights by the sea, on one or two islands at most. This is where the success of the trip is decided: settling in one place is better than a string of three hotels.

Day 15 — Return

A domestic flight to Bangkok, then the flight home, with enough time between the two.

What is included

  • Flights, booked by me, with online check-in and boarding passes
  • The full itinerary, with the coast chosen to suit your travel dates
  • Accommodation, booked and confirmed
  • Domestic flights and transfers
  • A detailed travel book, with practical advice for your time there

What is not

  • Meals not mentioned
  • Travel insurance, which I can offer you as an option

Suggested itinerary — ten days

A beach stay, without the tour

For a honeymoon or a proper break: a single region, two places to stay at most, and time.

Days 1 to 2 — Arrival and transfer

Arrival in Bangkok, then a domestic flight to whichever coast is in its best season on your dates. An overnight stop in Bangkok if the flight times require it.

Days 3 to 9 — By the sea

A first base, then possibly a second on another island or another beach, for a change of atmosphere without multiplying transfers. Boat trips, snorkelling and days of rest, at your own pace.

Day 10 — Return

Transfer to the airport and the flight home, with enough time between the domestic flight and the international one.

What is included

  • Flights, booked by me, with online check-in and boarding passes
  • The full itinerary, day by day, with real travel times
  • Accommodation, booked and confirmed
  • Transfers and logistics on the ground
  • A detailed travel book, digital or printed

What is not

  • Meals not mentioned
  • Travel insurance, which I can offer you as an option

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about a trip to Thailand, and my answers.

How many days should I allow?

For a north and beach combination, allow fifteen days on the ground, not counting international flights. For a beach-only stay, ten days is plenty, and even lets you unpack just once.

When is the best time to go?

From November to March on the Andaman coast, which is the most requested. If you can only travel between June and September, the Gulf of Thailand is generally the better choice. This is exactly the kind of decision that is made before booking, not after.

Is Thailand suitable for children?

Yes, very much so, as long as the pace is adapted: fewer stops, domestic flights rather than roads, and accommodation chosen for the children's ages rather than for the photo.

How much does a trip to Thailand cost?

The budget depends mainly on the season, the length of the trip and the standard of accommodation. I ask for your budget at our first conversation, then build an itinerary that respects it. Once the itinerary is approved, I send you an overall estimate, followed by the detailed quote. My fees are built into the price of the services: there are no hidden costs.

Is it a good destination for a honeymoon?

Yes, it is one of the most requested. The format then changes: a single coast, two places to stay at most, and time. See the honeymoon page.

What are the entry formalities for Thailand?

Since 15 September 2026, French nationals can stay for thirty days without a visa. The passport must be valid for at least six months after entry, and the digital arrival card (TDAC) is completed online within the three days before arrival. Everything is detailed in my guide to preparing a trip to Thailand. Information checked in October 2026.

Two ways to begin

A clear project, or just a wish?

Both can be worked on. The only difference is the starting point.
