Tailor-made trip to Croatia Croatia, between the coast and the islands.

More than a thousand kilometres of coastline, hundreds of islands, and ferries that set the real pace of the trip. It is the logistics at sea that make or break a stay in Croatia.

Why this destination with me

A trip to Croatia: what I know about this destination.

I have built trips to Croatia, between the coast and the islands, with a complete travel book.

What I watch most closely are the connections: ferry and catamaran timetables, car hire, driving times along the coast. In high season, a missed connection can cost you half a day.

So I build the itinerary around the connections, not the other way round.

When to go

When to go to Croatia? The right month depends on what you are coming for.

The Dalmatian coast and the interior do not share the same climate. Summer is superb but the coast is saturated, especially around the cruise ports.

Itineraries

Itineraries in Croatia: routes that are genuinely thought through.

This itinerary is a working draft, not a package. It is adjusted to your pace, your budget and the season.

Suggestion — ten days, nine nights

Dalmatia, coast and islands

One base on the coast, one or two islands, and ferries secured before anything else.

Days 1 to 3 — First coastal base

Settling in and exploring the town and its surroundings.

Day 4 — National park

A day in a national park, early in the morning to avoid the groups.

Days 5 to 8 — One island, or two

Crossing, then settling in. Ferry timetables shape the day far more than the programme does: they are checked before deciding the order of the stops.

Days 9 and 10 — Back along the coast

Final stop and departure, with some leeway on the return ferry.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about a trip to Croatia, and my answers.

How many days should I allow?

Ten days to combine the coast, a national park and one or two islands without rushing. A week means choosing: either the coast or the islands.

When is the best time to go?

June and September. September is probably the best month of the year for this destination: the sea is still warm and the summer crowds have thinned out.

Do I need a car?

On the coast and for the national parks, yes. On the islands, it depends on their size and on where you are staying. Taking your car on a ferry comes at a cost and requires a booking; not taking it sometimes means a second rental.

How much does a trip to Croatia cost?

The budget depends mainly on the season, the length of the trip and the standard of accommodation. I ask you for your budget from our first conversation, then build an itinerary that stays within it. Once the itinerary is approved, I send you an overall estimate, followed by the detailed quote. My fees are built into the price of the services: there are no hidden costs.

Is it suitable for families?

Yes, very much so: calm sea, reasonable distances and solid infrastructure. The point to watch is the number of changes of accommodation, which should be kept to a minimum.

What are the entry formalities?

For French nationals, a valid identity card or passport is enough: Croatia is part of the Schengen area. Identity checks are still systematic on arrival. I check the rules in force before every departure.

Two ways to begin

A clear project, or just a wish?

Both can be worked on. The only difference is the starting point.
