Honeymoon in Thailand On the right coast, at the right time.

Bangkok, the north, then the islands: I design honeymoons in Thailand that take the country's two seasons into account. An itinerary built with you, then a quote, and a detailed travel book.

Why Thailand for a honeymoon

A honeymoon in Thailand: culture, nature and beaches in the same trip.

Thailand is a very complete honeymoon destination: a big city, temples, nature in the north, then islands to finish in peace and quiet. That is what makes it so popular with newlyweds, and it is also what makes it easy to get wrong.

The trap is the weather. The country has two coastlines, and they do not have their rainy seasons at the same time. Choosing an island without looking at the month means risking a week on the beach in the rain, while the opposite coast is dry.

I have travelled in Thailand and organise all kinds of trips there. For a honeymoon, I always start with your travel period, then choose the coast, and only then the hotels.

The calendar

When to go on honeymoon to Thailand?

From November to March, the Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi, Koh Lanta and the neighbouring islands) is dry and sunny: it is the main season for a honeymoon. The Gulf of Thailand, with Koh Samui, takes over for a good part of the year, but it gets its main rains at the end of the year.

For a spring or summer wedding, the question is therefore not "should we go to Thailand?" but "which side?". That is exactly the trade-off I work out for you.

The month-by-month, coast-by-coast table is on my tailor-made trip to Thailand page.

An example route

A honeymoon itinerary in Thailand, from Bangkok to the islands.

Fifteen days, from the north to the sea

The most requested combination, with a deliberately long beach stay at the end.

  • Bangkok — two nights at the start of the trip, when jet lag wakes you early.
  • The north — three to four nights, reached by domestic flight: temples, markets, nature. I choose providers carefully, especially for any activity involving animals.
  • The islands — seven to eight nights on the coast that is in its best season, with one or two places to stay depending on whether you want to move around or not.

These stages are a working basis, not a package. I always build the itinerary with you, have you approve it, then draw up the quote.

What I take care of

The details that make a honeymoon in Thailand a success.

The right coast in the right month

This is the first decision, even before choosing the hotel. Getting the coast wrong costs a week on the beach.

Domestic flights rather than the road

Distances are long. A well-timed domestic flight gives you back a whole day of your honeymoon.

A peaceful end to the trip

I keep the beach part for the end of the itinerary, so the trip finishes with rest rather than transfers.

Up-to-date formalities

The entry rules for Thailand changed in 2026. I summarise them for French nationals in my guide to preparing a trip to Thailand.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions about a honeymoon in Thailand.

Which island should we choose for a honeymoon in Thailand?

It depends first on the month, then on what you are looking for: a lively island, a very quiet one, or a hotel you barely leave. I suggest two or three options on the coast that is in its best season for your dates.

Can we go to Thailand on honeymoon in summer?

Yes, provided you choose the right coast: summer is the rainy season on the Andaman side, but the Gulf of Thailand often remains a good option. It is a case where advice really changes the trip.

How many days should we allow?

Twelve to fifteen days let you combine Bangkok, the north and a proper week on the beach. With ten days, I recommend choosing between the north and a second island.

Can we see elephants ethically?

Yes, provided you choose places that offer neither riding nor shows. I select these providers carefully, and I explain my criteria to you.

Two ways to begin

A clear project, or just a wish?

Both can be worked on. The only difference is the starting point.

Tell me about your project

The form takes three minutes. Dates are not required: if you do not have any yet, an approximate period is enough.
